Craisins® Dried Cranberries Made with real fruit and good as a snack or in a recipe. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Ocean Spray first introduced dehydrated cranberries in the 1940s for Uncle Sam. During World War II, the bulk of our cranberry harvest was dehydrated and supplied to our troops—to the tune of a million pounds a year. The product faded into the background until the 1990s, when our Ingredient Technology Group (ITG) began marketing dried cranberries to other food manufacturers for industrial baking. In 1993 Ocean Spray® officially introduced Craisins® Dried Cranberries as a branded product and over the next decade began marketing them as a snack. Today, our line of Craisins® products includes several flavors, as well as both Greek yogurt and chocolate covered versions, and two types of trail mixes.
